I hope that you’ll take time to watch this a couple times and listen to the words and SHARE this with anyone who may need to hear this song.
This song is especially dedicated to Katherine Ballard. I’m so grateful to be able to share the story of Katherine and Tim Ballard (from Operation Underground Railroad & #ChildrenNeedFamilies) along with other families I know from my own life who have welcomed loving children into their forever family. To learn more about the Ballard family’s story, or to learn how you can get involved please visit:
There are a lot of people in our lives that are not necessarily flesh and blood, but who have become your ‘adopted’ child, or they’ve become parental figures, mentors and family to you. There’s someone in each of our lives that we can call “My Own”. Please share this song with them, I’m sure they’d love to hear from you!

LYRICS  “MY OWN”

I don’t walk the way you walk
And your smile is not my smile
And your hands are not my hands
But that’s OK, that’s alright
Cause your everywhere inside

     Neither flesh of my flesh
Or bone of my bone
But you are, you are
Heart of my heart
And soul of my soul
You are, you are my own

Take the worry from your mind
Cause I know
God made you more mine
Than the color of brown in my eyes
You had a choice and I am blessed
That you never left

Neither flesh of my flesh
Or bone of my bone
But you are, you are
Heart of my heart
And soul of my soul
You are, you are my own

Thank you for now
Thank you for then
And all you’ve ever been
All you’ve ever been
Cause you had a choice
You had a life
And still you gave me mine

Neither flesh of my flesh
Or bone of my bone
But you are, you are
Heart of my heart
And soul of my soul
You are, you are my own
